No Country for Old Men – 11/17/07 – Viewed on the BIG screen
This is an exaggerated, deliberate and horrific modern day western written and directed by the Coen brothers. Watching this movie is like riding a roller coaster; you’re nervous, you’re terrified, there are unexpected twists and turns and at the end you’re either satisfied or sick. The movie begins when a hunter comes across a drug deal gone bad and finds $2 million. He is then chased by a nihilistic bounty hunter who is truly evil and will stop at nothing. I can’t emphasize enough how intense this movie is. The bounty hunter is one of the most evil characters I’ve ever seen in a movie and there is good chance you will be holding your breath most of the time. On the surface it’s a thriller but between the lines the movie will make you think.
