National Treasure – 5/20/07 – Viewed on the small screen
Any savvy moviegoer should be able to tell what they are getting themselves into. Jerry Bruckheimer + Nick Cage + Da Vinci Code + Indiana Jones = Summer blockbuster that is not original at all but has some potential. These days I naturally write these types of movies off immediately becuase so many of the big hollywood blockbusters aren't good, but I heard this one was so I watched it on TV. I couldn’t believe it but I enjoyed this movie. It’s the best “good-clean-fun” action adventure I’ve seen in a long time. The trick was that the director didn’t bore you with too many character conflicts and the fantastical treasure hunt twists and turns weren’t that far fetched and worked overall. There was one that kind of pissed me off but not enough to ruin the movie. So if you’re in the mood for this type of movie rent it.
