Mongol – 5/29/08 – Viewed on the small screen (in Mongolia)
I tip my hat to Sergei Bodrov for making a factual movie about the early years of Chinggis Khan. He could have easily soldout and made a "Lord of the Rings" or "Braveheart" based on Chinggis (the man of the millenium). Sticking to the facts and the beautiful steppe of Mongolia is almost "Lord of the Rings" by itself. "Mongol" also has great cinematography and action.  Unfortunately, it only shows his life from a child to when he unites Monoglia's many clans. The next 10 years, when he conquered the whole known world, would have been fantastic. Maybe their will be a sequel!
