I Am Legend – 12/14/07 – Viewed on the BIG screen
What's the deal with Will Smith movies starting with "I" in the title?? Anyway, I Am Legend is nothing new, it’s simply a zombie movie with a huge budget and Will Smith.  In fact the story is so similar to 28 Days Later I’m surprised there hasn’t been a lawsuit. Smith is alone, with his dog, for about 45 minutes and does a great job but the most interesting aspect of the movie is the abandoned, desolate Manhattan. For the first hour just seeing NYC overgrown and falling apart is worth the price of admission but by the end you'll be wondering why you let the eye-catching previews trick you into seeing this... at least I did. By the way, 28 Days Later is pretty much the same movie but also much better.
