The Dark Knight – 8/18/08 – Viewed on the BIG screen
If there's anything negative about Christopher Nolan's movies it's that at times they are too ambitious. He tries to cram too much into a story, consequently making his movies super long. For The Dark Knight he literally puts two movies into one and it clocks in at over 2 and half hours. The first hour and 45 minutes are flawless and make this movie the best super hero movie ever. In fact calling it a comic-book/super hero movie really downgrades it because it is truly in a class all by itself. Ledger's performance as the Joker easily matches the hype the media gave it. If only Nolan had split this into two movies (and taken the whole ferry-boat saga out), I would have given it a 10!!!
