Control – 11/9/07 – Viewed on the BIG screen
Ian Curtis’s personal life was depressing and so is this movie. Anton Corbijn, famous for music videos, directs this biopic of the late lead singer of the British new wave band, Joy Division. It is based on the autobiography by Ian Curtis’s wife, so probably is as close as we are ever going to get to the true story of his personal life.  The movie is shot in black and white and the performances were amazing. It is a deep, emotional movie with great music throughout. It’s "Ray" or "Walk the Line" with an art house and indie music spin. If you’re a music lover you’ll enjoy this movie.
