Breach – 6/20/07 – Viewed on the small screen
Director Billy Ray does extensive research for his movies. He finds intriguing stories and then makes great movies out of them using the facts and real life locations.   In 2003's critically acclaimed Shattered Glass, Ray told the story of the now infamous journalist at "The New Republic" who fabricated over half of his stories.  Just like Shattered Glass, Breach involves a real-life story of an extremely intelligent individual who leads a life of deciet.  From the mid 80's until 2001 Robert Hanssen gave an invaluable amount of US secrets to the USSR and Russia, which is considered the greatest known security breach in U.S. history. This drama is highly suspenseful and had excellent, Oscar-worthy acting. I enjoyed Shattered Glass and Breach and will definitely be waiting in line to see Billy Ray's next movie.
